Gauntlets of Recursion (+3)

Times, trials, and turbulence.

This is a brief content-free entry, just to state that I’m still alive, and that midterms are finally over. Huzzah! Here is a screenshot for the time being, but I will expand more on the HUD system and what direction it will (eventually) be going in, in my next entry.

(Above: Showing the basis for the weapon display on the HUD. “INF” will later denote how much ammo for that weapon exists in total within the player’s inventory.)

Looking good. Here’s a minor suggestion: consider making the HUD subtly semi-transparent like you did before, so that part of the screen doesn’t become a blind spot.

Good idea. The whole issue of the HUD interfering with the viewing area has been a plague since way back when. I’m not sure if that will totally clear it up — and not just make it hard to read your ammo counter — but it’s definitely something worth a good try.

(And update your journal, darnit! :))

I would suggest in order to avoid that color problem make it with possibly a blue transparency or something, so that you can easily tell the difference.

Steve: Got my reasons not to unfortunately. If that isn’t clear enough, I’ll pop you an e-mail as a reminder. 😉
